Ode VII
When I had descended into the deepest pit,
I raised again those who dwelt in the grave.
(O Virgin, you bore God the Saviour as Man in the flesh)
Through this palm of victory
I grant rest to My servants
(Who before you have fallen asleep in the Faith).
Praise the Father, the Son, and My Holy Spirit
Since I, the overflowing Fountain of Life,
And a Stream of sweetest pleasures,
Grant that My servants
(Who have been translated to My presence may devoutly praise and magnify Me unto all the ages)
Praise the Father, the Son, and My Holy Spirit
Since I, the overflowing Fountain of Life,
And a Stream of sweetest pleasures,
Grant that My servants...
O Theotokos, you bore God the Saviour
As Man in the flesh,
Save those who with faith praise
My birth, and extol Me throughout all the ages.
